Celebrating an international research partnership through video

Research + Development Content

Taskscape produced a short web documentary filmed on location in Scotland and Kenya to celebrate partnerships between The James Hutton Institute and the Kenya Forestry Research Institute, focusing on their recent agroecology and agroforestry projects.

Brief

The James Hutton Institute is a leading Scottish research organisation working on land, crops, water and the environment. The Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) is Kenya’s national body for forestry research. Having collaborated on many projects, the two institutions wanted to showcase their partnership, both to celebrate what had been achieved and to communicate the partnership’s value to key audiences and grant-funding bodies.

Activity

  • Filmed interviews and on-location set pieces in Scotland and Kenya
  • Covered the impacts of recent agroecology and agroforestry projects in the field

Outcomes

  • Video deployed online by both institutions and shared directly with key stakeholders and grant funders
  • Shorter social media versions were made for the Scottish Government to showcase Scottish institutions’ leading activities in international research projects on dedicated social channels, including the Scottish Government in France
