Nottingham Trent University
Executive coaching, media training and participatory film across three university programmes.
Taskscape worked across three strands at Nottingham Trent University: executive coaching and consultancy for the Green Academy sustainability initiative, participatory media and placement hosting through Santander-funded programmes, and web-documentary production for CenSCE’s social mobility and student engagement work.
Brief
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a UK university with a national reputation for innovation in sustainability education, social mobility and student engagement, winning University of the Year at the 2019 UK Social Mobility Awards. Taskscape was awarded funding from public and private-sector grants to support consultancy and training over several years, working across three distinct programmes within the university.
Activity
- Provided executive coaching to leaders of the Green Academy initiative to support its creation and development as NTU’s sustainability education team
- Hosted Santander-funded media internships, providing students with participatory media training and production experience
- Produced innovative participatory video content for CenSCE, NTU’s centre for social mobility and student success, where participants created installation artworks.
Outcomes
- Consultancy and coaching helped develop the Green Academy, which has since evolved into a key part of NTU’s employability and sustainability offer
- Santander-funded placements helped students gain practical media experience to support careers after university
- CenSCE content was shared online, gaining thousands of views, and played at events to communicate the centre’s work internally and externally
- Key aspects of the programmes featured in the content went on to win national awards, and team leaders who received executive coaching also went on to navigate successful careers in national social mobility initiatives
